We believe in providing a good service to our residents, our communities and partners.


And we set high standards, whether it’s answering calls quickly, carrying out repairs when we say we will, helping residents into work, or building new homes for people in housing need.

This site tells you how we performed in 2014/15.

Delivering an excellent service

Sovereign is, and will remain, a social business. Our social purpose is at the heart of what we do and we strive to provide a good service to our residents. We've performed well over the last year and are in great shape to overcome future challenges, and continue providing quality affordable homes.

And there will be challenges. The recent changes to benefits and the rents we can charge, as well as the planned extension to Right to Buy announced in the 2015 Budget, will have a significant impact on our business and our residents. We’ll be reviewing our business plan and strategy over the next few months to make sure they remain fit for purpose. However, Sovereign exists to help people in housing need and these policy announcements won’t change that. Our highlights

We're one of the largest housing associations in the south and south west of England, with more than 37,500 homes and 88,000 residents.

A social business, we build great homes and communities and pride ourselves on being an excellent landlord, supporting our residents in meeting their aspirations. 

Who we are

 This year…

  • We helped 113 people into work, with an additional 413 helped towards employment.
  • Our Tenancy Support Advisors helped 1,818 residents.
  • We built 982 new homes.
  • We carried out 136,195 responsive repairs.
  • We completed 96% of repairs on time.
  • More than 650,000 calls were handled by our Connect contact centre.    
  • 10,000 residents signed up to MySovereign, an online service.

  • 1.99% level of rent arrears (compared to 2.83% last year).

  • We recruited 15 apprentices and two graduate students.
